Beshno Az Ney
02:59
|
|||
Listen to the flute, the ney: it complains
telling a tale of separation
since I was cut from the reed bed
men and women have lamented my cries
give me a breast torn asunder by separation
so I can express the pain of longing
whoever is separated from their origin
longs for recapturing unity
I have poured out my suffering in every gathering
my manners have been the same together with sad ones and happy ones
each became my friend from his own surmise
none sought to discover the secret within me

Sofðu unga ástin mín
úti regnið grætur
mamma geymir gullin þín
gamla leggi og völuskrín
við skulum ekki vaka um dimmar nætur
Það er margt sem myrkrið veit
minn er hugur þungur
oft ég svartan sandinn leit
svíða grænan engireit
í jöklinum hljóða dauðadjúpar sprungur
Sofðu lengi sofðu rótt
seint mun best að vakna
mæðan kenna mun þér fljótt
meðan hallar degi skjótt
að mennirnir elska missa gráta og sakna
Sleep my young love
outside the rain is weeping
mummy is watching over your treasure
an old bone and a round case
we should not stay awake
through dim nights
there is much that darkness knows
my mind is heavy
often I saw black sand
burning the green meadow
in the glacier cracks
are rumbling deep as death
sleep for a long time, sleep quietly
it is best to wake up late
sorrow will teach you soon
while the day is quickly decaying
that men love lose cry and mourn
Gjendines bånlåt
Jeg legges i min vugge nu
stundom gråte stundom le
sove nå sove nå
i Jesu namn
Jesus bevare bånet
I am being laid down in my crib now
sometimes I cry sometimes I laugh
sleep now sleep now
in the name of Jesus
Jesus keeps the children safe

Translation:
Kalimanko oh my beautiful girl
until today you’ve been for me the most beautiful girl
but from this day on, you are my true love
you have turned me into dry wood
dry wood dry walnut my beautiful girl

Seydik
05:16
|
|||
Dilikê min lê lê li ber felekê
hespan bînin zînan deynin li ser kê lekê
Seydikê min birîndare
hay hun bibin bajarê Diyarbekrê
birîna Seydikê min derba vê tifekê
dîtina min û Seydikê min çu roja qiyametê
Seydiko seydevano denbêjo bilurvano
sal û șepik bergûzê van nêriyano
xanîkê Seydikê min li pișta çûyê
belê Seydikê min eve sê roje zavaye
hûn bibin vê serșoyê
bo xwidê biken hûn bibin bajarê Zaxoyê
My son Seydik got up early secretly
bring the horses put the saddles on them
my Seydik is wounded
we will take him to the healer
my God let's take him to the town
the wound of my Seydik is that of my rifle
the last time I see my Seydik
is the last day of the world
Seydik my dear flute playing bard
your clothes looked like
the skin of an animal
the house of my Seydik is by the river
today my Seydik is a groom
take him to the hamam to wash his head
my Seydik is wounded,
take him to the town of Zakhoye
Seydik my dear, flute playing bard
your clothes looked like
the skin of an animal
Seydik my dearest
the one who hunts small birds
you thought you were a hunter
hadn't I told you not to go out
to hunt the wild beasts
may your father lose both his eyes
I killed my Seydik in the place
of a mountain goat

Smyrneiko Minore
Αν μ αγαπάς κι είν όνειρο, ποτέ να μην ξυπνήσω,
μες τη γλυκιά τη χαραυγή θέε μου ας ξεψυχίσω.
If you love me and it's a dream
I may never wake up
in the sweetness of dawn
God should take my soul away
